COVID-19: Mission Services & Announcements

This page contains up-to-date information about how COVID-19 is impacting Mission services. Every effort is being made to facilitate social distancing, adhere to CDC guidelines, and protect clients/staff/community members. We will strive to continue providing services to individuals and families in need.

Food Assistance

Community meals & food boxes are still available. Lunch is served daily at noon, dinner at 5 PM. Until further notice, community meals will be packed to-go and eaten off-site. Please go to Door #2 (with the green awning) and ring the doorbell to receive a meal. Thank you for your understanding.

Pre-packed food boxes are available on weekdays from 10 am - 4 pm and from 10 am - 7 pm on Wednesdays. If you would like to pick up a food box, please come to door #2 and ring the doorbell. You will need to fill out a basic information sheet. Please bring a photo I.D.

If you are unable to pick up during regular food box hours or are home-bound and need assistance getting a food box, please call (701) 772-6600 ext. 200.

Thank you to all our generous donors who have helped us expand the Backpack Program during the 2020-21 school year! We are now accepting program volunteers on a regular basis. Please contact Korrin at (701) 772-6600 ext. 215 for more info.

The Mission's Mobile Food Pantry continues to operate! A list of dates & locations can be found on our Facebook page here.

Urgent Mission Needs

We are in need of the following items:

  • Toilet Paper
  • Pillows
  • Winter Gear (hats, gloves, scarves, etc.)

Please bring donations to the Mission's front office at any time. If you would like to avoid entering the building, donations may be dropped off on the sidewalk/curb in front of the Mission. Please call us at (701) 772-6600 ext. 209 to let us know you have dropped off a donation. Thank you!

Client Services

All regular client services are continuing. Clients have access to food, shelter, clothing, hygiene products, shower/laundry facilities, and the Mission's advocacy team. Clients are actively being connected to housing, though we are ensuring that proper safety and social distancing guidelines are followed.

A work structure has been developed between the Mission, the Grand Forks Health Department, Spectra Health, and Altru Health System to deal with the current crisis and safely handle any individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

Volunteering

In order to facilitate social distancing and protect staff/clients/community members, the Mission is accepting volunteers on a case-by-case basis at this time. Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out asking to help.

If you have any questions about future volunteering or ways you can help now, please give us a call at (701) 772-6600 ext. 215.
